Yesterday was kind of a day of recovery after the day I had on Wednesday, But I still went out, not for long, but in the morning I was adjusting my saddle to the most comfortable position, not the seat post, the saddle itself, and late afternoon I did go out for a ride from my place in Dagenham and I went through a park called Old Dagenham Park to get to Beam Valley Country Park and once I got there I think I must have went around half of that park, it was massive, and loads of it was destroyed by fire and construction work, but in a good way, I think, as it looks as though they are developments taking place there that you can read more about here, so I guess it is not all bad, as long as they replace it with more trees or lakes, only time will tell.

Whilst in the park I did sit on the grass for 5 minutes so I could rest, I need loads of it at the moment, so I sat down and had a banana to eat and a bottle of salt water, but yesterday I think I put too much salt in the water, the day before on the ride to Lakeside I added two pinch of salt to my bottle of water, that was good, but yesterday I added three pinch of salt, there was defiantly a difference, was not nice, but still, i did drink it as I was thirsty.

That was about it for me yesterday, apart from doing some short rides to local shops during the evening.

I now have a bike

Posted: August 6, 2010 in News

Finally, on Wednesday 4th august I got the bike I have wanted for a long time, that is the B’Twin Rockrider 5.2, after riding it every day i can safely say it is a bike I have fallen in love with, and that is important.

Now time for some journey information, the day I got the bike, I left Decathlon Lakeside with my partner and we went towards Chafford Hundred train station and once we arrived there we was waiting about 15 minutes for a C2C train to take us to Upminster train station, once we finally arrived at Upminster we got on a district line train, my partner was going to get off at Dagenham Heathway train station as she did not have a bike, she will get one soon though, and I was planning to get off at Elm Park train station so that i could enjoy a more enjoyable route with more scenery, and I did, I ended up riding through Eastbrook Country Park where there was loads of horseĀ manure, not that it bothered me, but I was shocked at how much there was, the rest of the route was on road, so that was not much fun

Once I finally arrived home I thought about my gears, as most of the journey home they were slipping, Ā I was considering riding a journey from Dagenham to Lakeside back to Decathlon as there we no other options as it was about 6pm and most other shops would have been shut and may have even charged me for doing work, so at about 6:30pm I did decide to go to Lakeside, but for the journey there I got a train there, and had to ride home, I was happy with that, once I got to decathlon I found out it was just a gear cable and the cable had also come out of one of the holes that holds the cable to the frame, so I was not at Decathlon for long

Once I left decathlon after being there for about 10 minutes I had to ride home, I will not mention every detail but I think the route I took home was the longest route as it took me roughly about 1 hour 30 minutes to get home, I was so tired, I keep having to get off the bike and push the bike for about 3 minutes each time, but I only did that about4 or 5 times, I also sat down on a bench once for about 5 minutes, I guess I must have been so tired because I had not done this kind of cycling in years, about 5 years I think, so I guess what I was doing was a shock to my body, including my muscles, I do hate muscle burn, I got it in my knees, and also neck ache, from looking forward, and I got that because I am not used to having my head and neck in that kind of position I guess.

Once I finally arrived home I had dinner that had been waiting for me in the oven for about 1 hour I think, after that it was time to go on the computer, after about an hour of that, it was bed time for me

What to eat, foods with potassium

Posted: August 3, 2010 in Diet

I have no bike yet, but should have one soon, so as I wait to get a bike I have been focusing on a diet, this is a diet that is purely for energy and hopefully will also help build muscle fast too

The other day I started to read up onĀ potassiumĀ and I have come to understand thatĀ potassiumĀ helps with many things including providing you with energy, I obviously need to read up on all of that some more, but I think I have a rough understanding of potassium and by mentioning potassium I hope I am able to send a message out to people looking for help on what to eat if they have no idea, like me before I started researching what to eat and so on

If you go here you will see a massive list of foods that contain potassium, but not everything is there, foods such as the banana and beans are there, but there is no mention of orange juice or sunflower seeds, so I guess many foods are missing from that list

But I hope I have encouraged someone or many people to do some research on potassium and starting eating more foods that contain potassium

This week should be the week I finally get a new bike after about a 5 year rest from cycling, I have missed cycling so much in that time, between 5 years ago and today I have had 2 other bikes but one was just a mountain bike that was falling apart, one that needed to be retired beforeĀ IĀ spent Ā£20 on it, and the other bike i had was a trials bike, the bike with a strange frame and what is usually used for stunts,Ā IĀ tried to get myself interested in that but that did not go asĀ IĀ thought soĀ IĀ ended up selling that after a week

The last bike I had was a Cannondale Chase, that was lovely that bike was, but unfortunatelyĀ IĀ sold that to fund a carĀ IĀ no longer have, do not make the same mistake I did

But this is about today and the future, this week I should be getting a B’Twin Rockrider 5.2 from Decathlon, a bike that has received fantastic reviews, many other bikes receive fantastic reviews too, but this bike looks like it has received more than just a fantastic review, at Ā£200 I do not think anyone can go wrong with that bike, so I am happy that I looked around on the internet and did research on bikes before I just rushed out to buy a bike

Once I get out the doors of Decathlon with my new bike I will ride to a local train station and rather than getting off at my local train station I will get off in between both the stations, the station I will be getting off at will be Elm Park, a station that is on the District Line

Once I get off at Elm Park I will ride through a local country park there, the name of that country park is Eastbrookend Country Park

Riding through the local country park should be an adventure and should defiantly be fun, and will also give me a chance to get used to the bike more

Now it is just a case of when, it should be this week, but what day? I am not too sure yet, hopefully Wednesday
